Information on visas

Applying for a visa is an essential part of your study abroad journey. To help you access key and reliable information by country, we’ve put together some useful resources that you can find below. Remember that your NCUK Study Centre Counsellors are trained to advise and help you with your visa application for your chosen university study destination, so there’s nothing to worry about!

UK

To apply for a Student Visa in the UK, you must have first accepted an unconditional offer from the university in which you want to study at. Once you have accepted the offer, and paid any tuition fee deposit if applicable, your university will provide you with your “Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)” (subject to satisfying all visa requirements set out by the University) which you will need before you start your visa application.

You must also have enough money to support yourself and pay for your course. To do this, you will have to include financial documents such as a bank statement. If the financial support is provided by parents, guardians or anyone else, you will also have to provide letters and proof of relationship to the person who is funding your studies.

To apply for a Student Visa from outside of the UK costs £524, and to extend or switch to a Student Visa from within the UK costs £524.

Additional costs may also apply and an interview with a credibility interview with a UKVI immigration officer may be required.

The Australian government has a useful Document Checklist Tool that you can view here. Once you have all the supporting documents, you will need to set up an account to apply online via the ImmiAccount application portal.

All international students must apply for a single Student Visa (subclass 500) visa, irrespective of the programme you are planning to enrol onto. There is also an application fee from AUD 1,600 which you will be required to pay.
